I arrived back home last night after six days in lovely Los Angeles. I was out there to attend the Big Money Speaker Boot Camp, a wonderful event put together by the great leadership of James Malinchak. The biggest question I have been focusing on What are you investing in?

I love to attend events like this as they always give you great value. I believe each of these events I attend is an investment in my life, and my business. One of the people whom I was able to spend time with was a fellow attendee and an old friend, Patrick.

Patrick and I go way back to one of the first seminars I attended in the Dallas area, almost 10 years ago now. The Road Adventure is a great life enrichment seminar I attended where Patrick was part of the leadership. I made a great connection between that event and this one; I made an investment in myself to attend that event nine years ago. Now my life has drastically changed because of it.

So I wanted to take a week to talk on the subject of investment. It will be a short week – only four days of blogs, but they will show you investments in my life. They will show you that you can make investments that could change your life to live a RockStar dream.

Today I ask you this question: what are you investing in? So many of us never look at the two biggest things we need to invest in. How we invest these two things is what will show where success will be in our lives in the next three months to the next 30 years.

1.  Money.  Yes, you cannot talk about the word “investment” without talking about the word “money.” I have learned more over the past 10 years about how things I spend money on are investments. The seminar series I attended in 2003 where Patrick Dougher was a leader was full of people who could not afford it. Many had others pay for them; many just spent money on it, but I invested in it. The topic when I was there was about making changes in my life. When I put my money on the line, I wanted a return in my investment. That’s just like what I tell people about my events now: I talk about how they need to invest in themselves by attending my events. I tell them that coming to the event will give you information that will bring great changes to your life and help bring more money back to you.

2.  Time. I wanted to put time first and realized that we need to know how much more important time was to share with you. Just like this event I attended this past week, and the event from 2003 investment of time was a factor. My time is very valuable to me; many people come up and ask if they can pick my brain for free. Like I mentioned in the section on Money, many spend time and then complain they don’t have enough time. Many waste time.  I invest my time with those who want to make big changes. If I’m going to show people how to live a RockStar dream like I do, they are going to have to invest time to get there. It’s not an instant formula.

I want you to focus on these two investments: I will show you in all the posts this week how you can now track to see with money or time what is a good investment and what is a bad investment. You will have to make choices about where to invest your time and your money to get more time and more money.
