116x2Having too much time never seems to be the case. The problem is usually that people cannot find time; they seem to have a lack of it. We cannot seem to find the time to do those things we need to get done, let alone find time to do extra things that will bring us the dream.

In this week focused on barriers that keep us from moving to the entrepreneur dream, time can become a big one. Many people once starting down the road to a dream find that so many things can be put by the wayside due to time.

Time is something that could stop you or it could make you a more efficient person. A few years ago in the famous book, 4-Hour Workweek, removing “time-costly” things is something that Tim Ferris recommended.

But what if you have things you cannot remove? Some have that several-hour commute each day to and from the job they need to make ends meet. Some have to take care of family things, from the cooking to the cleaning to getting the kids ready for school.

Time management is not something that has a cookie-cutter solution for everyone. There are important things we must do that matter to us. We need to find the time to do what matters, and still get things done.

I have heard time and time again that those who wish to reach a dream in life may have to give some stuff up for a while to live a better life later. But where do we draw the line?

I have found that the way I do things in life may take a little longer, but I would rather enjoy the journey than give up all those things that bring me joy now just to reach a goal a little bit quicker. We’ve all heard the adage that you never hear of a person on their deathbed saying they wish they’d spent more time at work instead of with their families and loved ones.

Becoming an entrepreneur is a dream life, but it’s not a life that is made up of all the free time in the world. Entrepreneurs do not all have pockets full of money either. Entrepreneurs are people who get to do what they want and what matters to them is also what they need to do to achieve their goals.

You see it’s the journey that matters, and going through the tough times will happen, whether you live the entrepreneur life or not. You have to find the solutions that bring your life to the kind of life you want.

If it takes a little longer to reach those dreams you want, but you get to enjoy the journey along the way, why not do it?  I’m going to enjoy the moment, spend time doing it my way and work towards that dream at the same time. But the journey is part of that dream.

When you look at the barrier of time that way, you get to live the dream even when time is not on your side. It’s time to enjoy the time you have. If there’s not enough time to enjoy, slow down and take smaller steps.
