Well, it’s the middle of the week; we’ve been talking this week about how many entrepreneurs will give up during the month of August. I know you hate to hear that; you want to come here and read the touchy-feely things that make you leave feeling good. Well, I have been watching many Larry Winget videos lately, and I’m giving myself a kick in the shorts.
Do you remember the phrase “looking at the world through rose-colored glasses?” It’s funny what comes to mind when you hear certain things, isn’t it? You see, when I hear that, I get this strange picture in my mind. It was from a TV show back in the early ‘90s. When I tell this story it’s going to give some of you a not so feel-good stomach ache, but I also hope it will make you get back after it.
In the ‘90s, my dad was big on listening to and watching Rush Limbaugh. (I know. Many of you just left for the day, but don’t go; it gets better.) Well, Rush had a TV show and one of the things he did was to answer letters sent in from listeners. This one evening I was watching the show with my dad and a listener sent in a letter that addressed Rush and told him that he looked at the world with rose-colored glasses. The next shot is Rush with a rather feminine pair of rose-colored glasses on, saying, “What’s wrong with that?”
Ok; enough with my story that just made some of you give back your morning coffee. Think about how often you actually can be so much into feeling good, and wanting to hear nice things, things that you say make you feel better that you miss the reality of the situation. Well, it’s time to take off the glasses and look at the real world. You do want to be in business next month and not have to close, right?
You see coaches and teachers in our world have to start giving truth; we have to let you see what is really happening. If you are like me and you want to provide information that helps, you are going to have to solve problems that people need help with. If you want help you are going to have to listen to people who are willing to give it to you straight and not sugar coat it.
So here it is; if your business is not producing the income you need, it’s time to get your ass in gear and get back to work. I have a friend here in Dallas who teaches how to maximize social media and has some great solutions on solving marketing problems with social media. She has been in a slump and called me for help.
You see, when someone who is in a form of marketing is slumping and actually calls for help they are the ones who want success – want it badly enough to say, “I need help.” Well, she jumped back out in the past few weeks with a push I gave her to start putting videos up every day. She has numbers jumping up, and now she is able to get things in her life and business back on track. Why? She got out and did something. And then she came to others to say “I want to achieve something; what do I need to do to make it work?” She came to me for that “from-the-heart, kick-in-the-pants, let’s-get-this-thing-done” push. Now we can move forward to help her in both her business, and her life.
So are you ready to take the glasses off? Let’s get a good view of where you really are and get started on making 2012 finish up with a wild ride.

Since I’m in the make money online industry, there is a LOT of hype and everything is rose-tinted. Recently I’ve been trying to connect with people who “keep it real”, so I’m glad to see that you agree.
One of the big things that gets glossed-up is just how much actual work you have to put in (and this goes for a brick & mortar business too). The amount of success you have really is proportional to the amount of hard work you put in.
It’s one thing to say it too, another to actually DO it. My mother is a prime example of this. Every day she gets a motivational email. She constantly is posting motivational tips on her Facebook….yet, for all the inspiration, there’s no perspiration. I rarely see her do anything besides watch HGTV. By the way, my Mom is awesome for other reasons but the point is still there 🙂
