In the past month I have spent time on the phone with my coaches. One is working with me to make changes to take this business to the next level. With my other coach, we discussed ideas for joint ventures in 2013.

I was surprised when we started talking about joint ventures to find out that she was planning out her 2014. She had most of her ventures planned for 2013 already. I know many just read that and asked, “Who has business planned out that far?”

I wanted to take this week and create a theme of the responsibilities of an entrepreneur. Many of us think of the entrepreneur as that person who is free to do what they want; they do not have to schedule; they get to do what they want when they want.

Well I want to share this week the five things that responsible entrepreneurs need to do. The first thing is they must be planners. They have most of the year planned out; they have direction; they know where they want to go. They plan to make their goals come true. They are prepared when people ask questions to say “yes” or “no” based on the plans they have made.

If you are a responsible entrepreneur and want your business to be around this time next year you should have plans. My other coach teaches to have a two-year plan for your business if you wish to be successful.

How far ahead have you planned? What are your plans to be successful in the next two years? Today’s challenge is to write out a plan for your next year. Do you need help in getting your plan right for the next year? If you do, we can help. Sign up for one of our RockStarSuccess101 events.
