Yesterday we shared how we need to have our own plan to succeed. So many people are trying to follow other systems for success without researching what those teachers really went through to reach that success. It is a downfall that brings us to a deeper hole that we dig ourselves into.

I speak often of the fact that I have struggled a long time with depression. My challenges are hard when it comes to teaching people how they need set a plan to go from where they are to reaching their RockStar dream. Imagine the challenge of working to motivate a room full of people when you have woken up that day feeling like life doesn’t matter.

Yes, I do fall into that challenge many days. There are a lot of things I could do when this happens. I could sit back and feel sorry for myself; I could remind myself that I have done more with my life than most of the teachers I had in school ever expected me to do. I could try to encourage myself based on the fact that I have a form of epilepsy and not many people ever get past those hurdles in life.

I get up many days facing depression yet still work to make it a good day each and every day, some days facing a harder challenge than most. Sometimes I feel as if I haven’t achieved what I should, that I am not living to my potential. But I hear the comments from people who know me: “You are talented.” “You have skills that have taken you to different levels.” “You know when to make good business choices and when to walk away.” “That is not a skill that most people have.”

Well, I remember ten years ago I met a mentally and physically challenged lady. She was in her 30s and she worked as a greeter at a Wal-Mart. She was at the mental level of a 12- to15-year-old. She was in a wheel chair and could not walk. To say life was challenging for her is an understatement.

For her to work her six-hour shift, she had to get up four hours before her shift. Getting herself cleaned up and dressed was more of a challenge then most of us face in a year of working; she faced that each morning. Before she got started each day, she had to plan just to get rides to work and to the activities she wanted to attend. She had to have the public bus come to her house and load her wheel chair on; she had to build her schedule around when they could pick her up.

To work a six-hour shift would take more than 12 hours of her day sometimes. Yet we all think that we have challenges. All we have to do is get out of bed, wash our face with a washcloth, brush our teeth and make a cup of coffee to head out to work. The hardest part of our day is the traffic we must face to get to our job.

Yesterday I spoke about how we need to make a plan that takes us to success; we cannot totally rely on what others throw at us as a plan. Today we must realize we are all given a set of challenges that we must face to achieve our daily tasks.

To plan to move out of the everyday so you can head towards a dream, you not only have to handle the daily tasks but you must also plan to do a little extra. Just like we mentioned yesterday, if you want to run a marathon, you are going to have to train to do it. If you want to live a dream, you are going to have to make some changes in your life to make that happen.

You know your daily challenges; I have my own each day. You need to build your life to work around those challenges and change for the better. Many people take on more and more to live a better life. Others will sit and say how they cannot do any more than they are doing already.

You may realize that you have more advantages than many others, but you need to make use of your time and money to make your dreams happen. Today be thankful for what you have; set up a way to learn to do just a few more things with your life to take it to another level. Just give two hours a day working towards that dream you have. Whether it’s building a new business or building a dream house, you will be surprised how far a little more time and dedication will take you over time.
