You walk into a business in another city and, looking around, you see this place has not been cleaned in about four years. The person who greets you has to look around stacks of papers just to say “hi” to you.

What is your idea of a place like that? Better yet, how would you feel if this was a cleaning company you were thinking of hiring to clean out a relative’s place? Or what if it was a pest control company and you noticed messes all around that would invite any pest?

I know we have all heard the story from all of those friends who tell you, “I have a system; I know where everything is so don’t touch anything. I’ll find it.”  I have heard that line from so many people only to watch them lose their keys.

You see, no matter what business you’re in, we could talk about the fact that so many do not have things organized in their life or business and as a result, cannot gain respect from their potential customers and clients.

When I was in Amway many years ago, I heard the line, “Would you buy a Chevy from a guy who was driving a Ford?” Too many people are “wantrepreneurs” who are just not organized enough to give confidence that they can handle the task at hand, namely the service you need to purchase from them.

A responsible Entrepreneur is one who is organized. If you have to get your life and business organized, there are many who do that as a business service. As a matter of fact, I have a good friend, Pam, who does just that. The name of her company is Organized Chaos. She has great tips as well as other resource companies like hers to help you get organized in your home, life and business.

So today’s challenge is to get your business organized. Do you have a system for running your company? Do you have a system that makes your life efficient? The responsible Entrepreneurs are those who create systems to make their companies successful and profitable. And they are organized. If you are not, take today’s challenge: pick one small thing and make a system to handle it so you never have to think about it again.

After you have done that once, take each part of your business and systemize it the same way. If you need help with building a system, come get help at one of our Rock ‘n’ Roll Entrepreneur Bootcamp
