So one of the great things about being as friendly as I am is that I talk to everyone. I build an attraction system that gives people peace about talking to me. Today, while thinking of writing this post, I took a motorcycle ride uptown to meet someone. On my trip, I got another idea for ways to bring today’s message across.
While making a left-hand turn at an intersection I had a green light but I was waiting on traffic to pass so I could turn. Through the great training and stretching of myself I have learned how to move my bike a small short distance while keeping it balanced so I don’t have to put my feet down. Today I was doing that before making a turn. To those who were watching, it looked like I made the bike stand still as I waited to turn.
Unknown to me, a police officer was stopped at the light in the other direction, watching. Once he got the green light he raced up to me, pulled beside me at another light and said “That was good riding skills on the bike.” I was unaware of what he had watched me do, but he asked to talk to me about my riding skills. We pulled into a parking lot and talked, then he explained what he saw me do.
A police officer in today’s world could come off the wrong way in approaching someone to talk to him; yet he took the chance to meet me and talk about bike riding. It was good to meet him, I told him what I do and that I would share this story today. He said that was great and he would read it, but he asked me not to mention his town or name.
Instead I want to use the fact that people are people, no matter who you are – from star to super star; from the average person to that football player you really want to meet, they are all people just like you. I meet so many stars; I meet so many people who are famous in some way and I find they are human, just like me.
The person I want to tell you about this week is no different; I met her while walking up to sign in at the Marketing Boot Camp in LA. She was checking people in and making sure they had a name badge made out; she was friendly and seemed excited to meet everyone. I asked one simple question “Where can I get some coffee? I’m tired.” Her response was “I don’t know but if you find some I want a cup with cream and two packets of Splenda.”
She had no idea I spent five years working at a Starbucks store where you often learn peoples’ drinks before you know their names. So I brought her a coffee and every morning I was the one to bring her coffee.
She was at the event as a volunteer, serving us – the people who attended. After the event was over she asked me if we could keep in touch. She never worked to sell me anything but after a phone conversation I found we have a way to work together in business. I am so excited that she showed me a plan for building an online business that anyone can get into and start making money right away.
So now I’m sharing her story about how she did that and how it never cost her anything to join this, as she was able to get partners on board with her in the first week she started. I am happy to share specifics of this idea with those who want a way to make income and if you contact me about this money-making opportunity, you’ll find it is a way that anyone can build a business.
Many people want to get started in these businesses, but many are worried about another one of those direct sales companies that a brother-in-law talks you into because he cannot talk anyone else into it. We all look to find anyone who has made money in it.
Well, I met the person who does make a large amount of money doing this business. It’s not about cars to her but she has a nice one. Like anyone would, I Googled her name and, wow, I had no idea who she is.
So this far into the post I want to tell you about one of my new closest friends, Bridget Brady. Though she has worked in many areas, in many fields, she never told me about them. I found out about her by checking out the web to find out. She is a person that, when you meet her, you feel like she is there to be your friend. She is a giver, as all of the people this week are.
She has a great business opportunity and, yes, some of my clients in coaching ask me what other ways they can make money to support what they really want to do. Get into an internet online store system like Bridget.
Are you looking for a simple, effective way to improve your life? Stick your hand out and say hello and be willing to serve like Bridget does. To me, that cup of coffee was one of the greatest investments ever made. I am so glad to call Bridget Brady one of my closest friends, both personal and in business.
So how much is a cup of coffee worth to you? It could be worth a friendship. Use that to make a friend today. Buy a coffee for the guy behind you in line at the coffee shop today and make a new friend.

I make no money when I do workshops on self-sufficiency at prisons and in homeless shelters, but the rewards are immeasurable. Connecting with and helping people is a rare opportunity to find the jewels of humanity. After almost 20 years, I still have an occasional former boy scout drop by and thank me for leading them towards a more productive life. Giving to others is a powerful force in one’s own character and rewards are often more powerful to the giver.
Thanks Ed
