Last week a post came out on several people’s FaceBook status updates. It told the great story of a grandmother telling her granddaughter she was leaving her the farm to take care of. Rather than explain it to you, I’m going to just show you the post.
A dying granny tells her granddaughter, “I want to leave you my farm. It includes the villa, the tractor and other equipment, the farmhouse and $22,398,750.78 in cash.” The granddaughter, about to be rich, says, “Oh my, granny, you are so generous. I didn’t even know you had a farm. Where is it?” With her last breath, her granny whispered, “Facebook…”
The first person I thought of when reading this was my own mother. She enjoys playing these games, and not only manages her own farm but was also taking care of about five or more farms for others. The game phase on the internet has gone wild. No, I’m not here to put them down today; we all have games or puzzles we solve on the net, on computer, on game systems, or even cell phones.
Today is going to be a post with two different ideas put together into one. First I want to talk about something that happened a few years ago. A friend told me he believes that how we play games tells a lot of about us. He then told the story of how his boss would always tend to cheat, or alter his score while playing golf. Then he found out his boss was also cheating on his taxes. Later, he found out he was cheating the company out of money. Then the ultimate: he was cheating on his wife. This simple example showed that how someone played a game could very well give you a show of how they live their life.
At our home we like to play a game of Scrabble usually after our family dinners together. My honey and her dad have done this for years. Over the past year I started joining in. Each time we play, we are not keeping score, not trying to beat each other and at the end of the game we make sure all letters are played, my wonderful sweet lady always proclaims, “Yay! Everybody wins!” That is how she lives her life: to make everyone win.
Playing these games also shows how people like my mom are in life. She is always working to do just a little more. She has always been a person who works to manage her own things, then branches out to help others do the same. That is just the way my mom is. So you see, how you play the game shows how you may live your life.
So I want to move on to my next point of using the Farmtown and Farmville games as a way to get back to basics in reaching your goals. This is one of the oldest concepts in personal growth: you reap what you sow.
This is our back to basics for the day, no matter where you go in life you will reap what you sow. If you are waiting for you ship to come in, first you have to send it out. The karma of life is that you get what you give. As I have mentioned in many of my posts about my friend Rich, he was of the Jewish faith and told me no matter what you believe, it’s all the same: you have to give to get something in return.
So what seeds have you been planting in your life to bring a crop that will move you towards your goals? Have you stuck your hand out to help someone else reach their goals? As Zig Ziglar has always said, you can have what you want in life if you first help enough other people get what they want in life. So look back over your past year and write down what seeds you have planted. Then look at what has grown from your work.
Now start planting the seeds for your next steps in life. You cannot give more than you receive in life; it isn’t possible. That is a fact; if you don’t believe it I dare you to try it for one month and document your results.
So we wrap up this week of going back to basics in reaching your goals. The final point is you have to always be planting the seeds for your harvest to come. Turn your Farmtown into a real life farm; the concept works in the game and if you apply this to your life you will see great growth.

You should post this on the Farmtown Facebook site’s discussion board. It could bring in more readers since you’re relating to them.
Thanks I never get to that discussion board, You may go in there and include the link if you wish. Rock on
