This week has been about the changes that are happening, the changes that have happened, and the thoughts some have asking, “What if I had made the other choice instead?” I shared how this year I am making changes that will change my business, and my life.
Yesterday we talked about the pay it forward idea, how we as speakers, coaches, entrepreneurs have paid it forward and how that is something we must do. The change we need to make it pay it forward more.
Do you recall the movie a few years back with Kevin Spacey, Haley Joel Osment, Helen Hunt, and Jon Bon Jovi. In one of my many movie-watching marathons this is one that I would watch many times over. The idea is that when someone helps you, you don’t just help them back, help someone else. The idea is that you should help someone who cannot help you back.
Changes have happened in my world over the years, I recall a times where others had to help me, most times the help was from people whom I could not help back at the time. Another thing I noticed over the years about those who have helped is they are the most blessed people.
So many things go into this law of karma thing that we all seem to miss. When you have to give you must give. The amount you give will be directly related to the amount you receive.
In 2008 a big part of the major changes that turned my life to look at teaching entrepreneurs was hearing a preacher at a conference talk about the elections that were coming up. He spoke of how times were getting rough for many Americans, but the Christians were not worried.
Then came the statement that made everyone think. He said the only people who were worried in the tough times were those who ate the seeds instead of planting them. The idea that we need to always be giving, always be paying forward not just money but in actions, that is the thing that will keep us living without fear.
When I heard that, it changed my life, it changed the way I think. Yes at times we are on edge about when the money will come in to pay the bills on time. Yes we worry from time to time about will I have to strength to make this task. But overall we build a life of always paying it forward.
Taking responsibility for our actions to always help others, that is the change needed to make the world a better place. That is the change that gives us a confidence that it will work out some way. Somehow there is a solution to this problem and we just have to find it.
So as we close this week up with changes and paying it forward, here is one last call to action. Don’t stop the Karma train, yes people may not pay you on time, but keep giving anyway. Yes, people are going to have fear about taking action, or investing in themselves with your business. Have faith and believe that you are doing the right thing.
The road may seem hard, but keep going. Your success is just around the corner, and when you reach it you will be in the middle of an entirely different climb.
