Are you Ready to ROCK?

Good Monday morning to you. I’m headed back to Texas after an awesome time spent with one of my personal mentors, Craig Duswalt, at his RockStar Marketing Boot Camp in Los Angeles. I had to drive almost three days to get here and it will take us almost three days to get back, but it was worth every minute.

Last week’s topic was devoted to my five top mentors and I told that I have met some of them in person or have had email contact with them. One of the problems we sometimes experience when we meet people we admire in person is that they don’t live up to our expectations. That happens because these people have meant so much us, have been responsible for great things in our lives but in reality, they are just people and not the perfect people we’ve made them out to be in our minds.

In this case, though, my time spent with Craig was some of the most meaningful of my professional life. My connection with what Craig is doing is stronger than ever and what he has contributed to my personal dream – to Rocker Life Coach – has got me as excited as I’ve been since I started this business. It’s great to be able to say this because you always want your mentors to shine as brightly in person as they do in your mind.

Even more exciting is life, I leave a marketing seminar but share family time an events for my ride home. I didn’t ride the motorcycle this time so I could take a car road trip this time with my future father in law. Memories with friends and family are worth more then money.

I’m beginning the trip back to Texas in the morning. I’ve been traveling with Gwynne’s father and we will stop in Phoenix to see his sister as well as making a detour through Albuquerque to visit a winery Gwynne was excited about after her recent trip there. And during the whole ride home, I’ll be thinking about how to apply all the great things I’ve learned to the next stage in Rocker Life Coach. And, of course, I’ll be sharing with you what I’ve learned so you, my faithful readers, can go along for the ride.

In September, Gwynne and I will be attending the Rock Star Marketing Boot Camp together. Craig’s wife is part of the event and one of the things that seeing them working together reinforced to me is how fortunate we are to find people to partner with us who share our dreams and will support us in achieving them. As soon as I get home, I’m going to start working, with my partner, Gwynne, to apply all the great things I’ve learned as we continue working together to build Rocker Life Coach.
