Are You an Entrepreneur or an Employee?

So many hate where the world they live in has taken them. They want to make a change and get out. This week, we’re going to focus on some hard facts about real entrepreneurs and making change.

In my life there have been two moments when I realized I was, in fact, an entrepreneur. I tell the stories often. The day my dad came home from work early because he had lost another job would be the first. As a young child, when you see your life vision, many things can put doubt into your mind about whether or not that vision is true. The biggest problem we have with finding the truth behind our true vision is the message other people in our lives tell us.

The second story was in October 2008 when a friend hit the facts dead on at a men’s prayer group I was attending. Nate hit hard that day with a statement that I never forgot: “We live in America. No matter who is president, we control our own economy.”

You must make the same choice I did, from that moment in 2008 to the point I left my last job in 2010. It was a battle to move towards what I know my purpose is: to be an entrepreneur. This week I will write on five hard facts about entrepreneurs. Warning: this week’s posts are not about feeling good in your life. They are focused on helping you decide that you are an entrepreneur or that you really belong working or leading a team for someone else.

If you’re an entrepreneur and you think that the president makes a difference to your business, you should stay at your current job.

I know this is a hard fact to accept. So many people come to me with great ideas. They talk of great business ideas and plans they have. Yet they are not ready to leave the comfort of a regular income.

They have the idea but think that someone else will be in control of their destiny. I read the many posts from my friends — both conservative and liberal in their political views. They all base so much on who is our leader; they talk of how the party that is in the White House is going to take away freedoms or hurt business by the way they take on debt or raise taxes. They believe incorrectly that the person in office is responsible for everything that is wrong.

It’s time for you, the entrepreneur, to realize that it is up to you to get out and make a new choice to save your world and create a new one for you, for your family, for your community, and for your country.

So what are you? Entrepreneur or employee? It’s really up to you to decide. The great thing is that no matter which you choose, I will continue to show you how to make the world and your business better.
