I was at two different meetings tonight. One was with mostly entrepreneurs and sales people. The other was a jobless group. While both groups had people about the same age, one was teaching how to get a job, the other was business people talking about what they do and how they can help you.

The reason I brought up these two groups in today’s post was that they both have several things in common. They both have the same needs, they both are seeking. So let us go over what each of them has, one-by-one, and compare.

1. Both groups had people over the age of 40. While this is not an age thing, the reason I mention it is both groups have experience in the world. They have had successes and failures.

2. Both groups need to find work. One group is looking for a job, someplace they can put hours in and get a paycheck. The other is looking for work by talking to other people to see who needs the services they offer.

3. Both groups are looking to change and need to have the entrepreneur spirit. This is the big one. They need to be creative to find the next job or the next client or customer.

Here is where we are going to split up. You see, once the entrepreneur group finds a new customer they immediately start looking for the next customer. They never stop; it is part of their job from now until they no longer work.

Those who are just looking to find a job will turn on creative thinking and do whatever it takes to find that next job. Then they will relax and just become bored doing a task that keeps them in a job.

I write this today to bring to the table the fact that we need to all become entrepreneurs; we need to be in a state of recreation — not just for our jobs, not just to create a business of our own. We need to do this to make our schools stronger, our churches better places of worship, to make our community a better place for our kids to live.

The last reason we need to always be creative is the fact that our spouses need to see us become creative in doing things to keep love alive in the relationship. Yes I need to read how to be a better husband, I need to learn from my wife how to change and become a better husband.

Too many people have gotten the idea, “I got the job so I can sit back and relax and take time for me now.” WRONG. We need to invest in ourselves and become a better person in all the ways mentioned today.

So what are you going to do to improve your world? It’s time for you to analyze your world and make improvements to live in that entrepreneur sprit.
