Well, I am on the road this week, getting ready for my Phoenix Seminar. We are going to rock Phoenix from our location in the entertainment center near the home of the Arizona Cardinals.
Anyway I wanted to do something fun, yet still put some education behind it. Last spring I did a theme on my mentors. They were speakers or coaches who helped me, inspired me to build my own speaking and coaching business. It got me to thinking of all the times you talk with a Rock Musician and he or she tells you about the music they listened to when growing up and how it influenced them.
So rather than just do a week on what musician inspired me, I wanted to do a week on American Rock Icons and how they inspired our world, as well as me. Today I wanted to start with the King. Last week marked the 35th year since Elvis left the building.
Many people go each year to Graceland to see the home of Elvis. I myself was there to visit with my daughter Jess in 2009. It’s a place that you just have to visit to feel the inspiration of Elvis.
Look at what Elvis did to change the history of Rock ‘n’ Roll. I read an article last week from an interview that Pricilla Presley did where she talked about Elvis and how he struggled with the fact that he had to stay out there for his fear of fans forgetting him.
We all have fears; even the King did. Yet 35 years later people are still stopping by to remember him.
So what fears do you have? What are you willing to do to get over your fears? What will you be remembered for? Your fears? Or your music? Today’s lesson would be, “Don’t let the music die inside of you.” Find your dream and live it so you will be remembered for that and not your fears.
I’m Tim Gillette, the Rocker Life Coach. It’s time to live your dream, to love what you do and those you share life with. Bring the music in you to life and become the RockStar in your world.
