Where I Started From

Where I Started From

I started this blog and this mission of creating Rocker Life Coach three years ago now. So I want to take a week and go back to where we started. In the beginning I started this blog and my coaching business because I wanted to help people become a RockStar right where they were.

Early on, much of the coaching I did was with people going through major changes. I wanted to give them tools to help deal with those changes. Now I work with entrepreneurs helping them kick-start their businesses, reduce the stress in starting a business, and helping them build profitable businesses.

Let’s take this week to go back over the steps I used for being a RockStar success in the very place you are.

Step One: Observe Where You Are

No matter if you are walking into an event, starting a job, or starting to recreate yourself, you must first become observant of where you are. Walk around and when you do, also look around; see what is going on before you jump to showing yourself to be the RockStar.

Any time I began a new job or other endeavor, I started out by looking around. I didn’t open my mouth and I don’t make those great claims that I can do this or that.

Take a look around where you’re at now. If you work in a company, what kind of manager do you work for? What is his or her personality? Who are the people that control you moving forward at your job or in your current situation?

Right now, when you’re starting out, don’t make waves. Use this as a learning time. In every job and work situation you will find people who are floating in the middle at what they do. They are just trying to keep the job they have. They don’t want to lose it, but they also don’t want to rise above what is expected from them. They do the minimum required to keep a job. If you watch and learn, it does not take long to find this out.

I am putting these very words in action this week, as I am attending my first Blog World New Media Expo in Las Vegas. I have been meeting so many bloggers, podcasters and social media people. We are all out here to learn something new.

If it’s time in your life to learn something new, then take the first step and observe where you are. Make some notes about what is going on in the place you are about to improve. Tomorrow we can work with that list and take the next step.

RockStar I’m Tim Gillette, the Rocker Life Coach. It’s time to live your dream, love what you do. Get ready to make 2013 the year that rocks.
