Show Me the Money

Think back to when you were five to seven years old. Can you remember back that far? Many who read this, who are facing the wantrepreneur struggle, just cannot remember their youth, not that far back in youth to the age of five.

I would mention the teen years, but that is where the fear set in that we mentioned yesterday. You see, so many can’t get back to that point before the fear. Maybe you should talk to a group of 5- to 10-year-olds and ask them how they would solve some of those tough things you struggle with.

I am reminded of the story of the man who was talking with his wife one night about how they were struggling with money. They wanted to plan the family vacation but it was just not possible. The husband said, “I just can’t see it happening; we have no money to pay the bills let alone make that trip to Disney this year.”

Their young 5-year-old son comes out from his bedroom with his small piggy bank, hands it to his dad and tells him, “Here, Daddy. You can have my money to pay the bills.”

You see, for the 5-year-old, the idea of money is still not a challenge to him; he still sees things he can do and will find a way to do things that we might think are impossible. So many times I hear stories of the little kids with dreams, talking of the many things they plan on doing. They have not yet been stopped by the fear. They don’t have the fear that the money will not be there to start it or that, once started, the money will run out.

Many are reading this today and thinking I’m going to tell you that the money is there, that I found it and so can you. It reminds me of the wise man I used to sit and talk with many years ago after cleaning his cars each week. He told me everyone has one of two money problems: either not enough, or worry about who is going to take what they have.

Money is the biggest barrier that keeps dreams from happening. Yes, we have faced and continue to face the same money issues as so many others do. Many times we acted on faith and took steps knowing the money would come, but we still had to sweat the loan payments.

There are so many ways to get money, which is why at most of our seminars and workshops we have people who teach how to find money to make dreams happen. From Jason Nast sharing the stories of crowd funding and how it’s working to help people get that edge to get started; to Roberto Candelaria sharing the idea of sponsorship to get your event or tour started.

Money is a topic that could be a long blog post, but with the small space here we only touched on it briefly today. So what I challenge you to do is have a chat with some kids about their dreams to help you remember back to when you had dreams and no fear. Ask a group of you boys or girls under the age of 12 what they would do to change the world, or what their dreams are. Use this to get your thinking cap going again.

Maybe it’s time to get help finding that feeling of hope you had when you were young. Coaches help you think of those things you can’t seem to find on your own; they help you find the confidence to overcome the fear.

The Root of All That is Evil

money the root of all evil There is a story that has helped me push and push my mindset to change. We’ve probably all heard the misquoted bible verse growing up: “Money is the root of all evil.” If you say that enough times you will believe that lie.

You see, that is what I heard when I was young and no matter how many times someone tried to change the saying, the mindset that was put into me would override it and I would only hear it the way I learned it. The actual quote is: “The LOVE of money is the root of all evil.” But many people will stay broke because some well-meaning pastor or preacher miss-quoted that verse by a few words and it stuck in the mind.

Today is the last part of this week’s theme of the Five M’s I used to create a system for success. Music started our week out as I get motivated from music and songs; then movies, which help me to find stories to train my mind to success. Riding my motorcycle is another motivator, as well as the motivational industry of reading and programs to get us to work on ourselves. Then today we close out with money.

Today is Black Friday and many people will be out in the shopping malls because of this last M. Yes we are talking about Money; no matter what system you are working on to improve a business you must make money to be a business. No, this blog is not you needing to be rich or striving to be wealthy, but think of this: if you create a system that gives you more money what could you do with the money?

Money was a draw as it’s needed to buy food, a home, to pay for those things that help me live my lifestyle. So what are you doing to get the money in your life that you need? Use the money as a way to plan the life you want to live. Once you choose your lifestyle then you get to design your system to reach it.

I hope this week gives you some insight into why I created my Rocker Life Coach system to motivate and change my life for success. If you need more information on how you can use this system to change your life, send us a note on the contact page.

Just Say No to the Business That Does Not Fit

Most of the people who hear me speak about the great business opportunities out there have heard of the many multi-level marketing companies. Yes, I am part of some of them and have looked at many others. But when do you add a multi-level company to your business line and when do you say “NO?”

Recently, I was approached by a lady who asked if I ever look for other income opportunities. She told me about the great things that multi-levels have to offer, how more and more people are making a great income and live an unbelievable lifestyle from working these businesses. Of course, I agreed with her.

When asked if I use any of them to make income for myself, I shared that I am involved in several different ones. I have one that provides me with a cash back system through owning an online mall portal; it also includes a travel site that we use to book all our hotels and some flights and car rentals. That alone saves us more than it cost to get started, plus it provides a great source of extra income.

I am also about to get started with a legal program that provides my business and me personally with a legal plan that, again, saves me so much a year on lawyers and legal fees. It’s another great addition to my current business and another form of income.

Now, the lady who started this conversation tells me that she has the greatest thing, that I am going to love it and will walk away from everything else. That statement prompted me to question her further as she does not know how much I speak on finding a purpose and building life around it.

The draw for almost every person who is thinking about starting and building a multi-level business is money. Those who are selling a multi-level to you typically talk about how they have a system with great rewards and it will make more money than what you are doing now.

So this leads to another of those times I like to say “NO.” You see, I teach that you need to have a system of passive income in place. Multi-level companies provide that when they’re built right. But building one is harder than working a job that you hate. You must find a company or product that follows your purpose and fits your business model. You must also be able to answer the “why” question when people ask you about it.

One of my mentors, who is involved in several multi-levels himself, is not afraid to take a look at other companies; but his mind is always about his business and the plan that he has built up till now. Every one that he looks at must fit into his current business plan.

So if you want to have a successful life, first find a purpose and a business plan. Then you can learn when to say “NO” to those people who are only looking to put numbers in their own down-line. After all, if you have no direction in life, you will follow anyone who appears to be a leader. Get your direction right and learn to say “NO” to what is not going your way.

Just Say Yes

I just came off another fantastic week of education on business, marketing and entrepreneurship. It’s so good to see great mentors and friends, to take time and learn from many who have done things in their lives and made success from what life handed them.

A theme that struck me last week while at this event was something that I need to apply more in my life. I was reminded of this from my mentor and friend, Craig Duswalt, as well as many other teachers like Les Brown, James Malinchak, and Loral Langmeier, who coach people on being successful, excelling in business and managing money well.

The one thing I need to apply that they teach is to just say “yes” and find a way to make it happen. My wife has this down; she is the first to just say “Yes, we need to do that” then work to find the way to make it happen. Now you may think I’m talking money, but I found this theme needed to be applied in so many areas of life.

So I want to look at it in a few different ways. We’re going to talk about getting life moving and getting some feedback from you on ways you learned to just say “yes” and then find a way to make things happen.

This year I stepped out and just said “yes” to attending many of the events that I was putting off. I preferred to have the money in the bank before I would plan on attending the event.

The truth is, we shut a part of our mind down when we think this way. Our minds automatically shut off the creative side when we say “no.”  I have watched as many people look to build a better world with close-minded ideas.  Too many times we wait till we are backed into a corner before we make the choices that could make the changes we should have made months before to save ourselves.

So as we go through a few ideas this week, think of how your mind works. Have you actually begun a habit of saying “no” when you mean to say “yes?” Are you ready to open your mind to possibilities? Get ready and let’s learn together to say “yes” and find a way to make it happen.

Going Back to School, Rich People Thinking

This week it has shown up on several news sites. So many people are now doing a review of the book that Steven Siebold wrote about how the rich people think vs. how poor people think.

There are many different points that Steve brings up in this book. I have seen two articles reviewing it. One article provided 21 ways and the other featured 15 ways. But trust me. There are more ways than either of these articles could possibly share. There are more differences than could be told in this small post. Today we are going to cover the two that deal with this weeks theme.

I know so many people who tell me they don’t want to hear about how the rich get rich because it’s only making us poor. Guess what. The rich getting rich is not the reason others are poor. Yes I said that, and I would stand behind that statement.

Many years ago I heard the idea we need to share the world’s wealth. If we did share the wealth, if we took all the money from everyone in the world, and spread it evenly among all the people in the world, within a matter of two to five years all those who have the money now would have it back.

I know some do not want to hear this, but it’s true. You see this book that is mentioned so much this week tells the reasons why. Rich people think differently. And are you ready for my big bang? This is not all about money! The rich of this world are not the ones with all the money; they are the ones in control of their money. By far I am not part of the billionaires or millionaires of the world. And I do not believe those that have millions or billions need to give more to help those who don’t have a lot of money. The key is exactly what this theme this week is about, going back to school to learn. Do you want more learn more.

It comes down to an education. Two of the points in this book need to be added to this week’s theme. Ready? Here they are:

1.       The rich educate their children about money. That is right. Those that are rich teach their kids how to handle money. They share things like how to invest for a future; they share how you don’t buy fancy cars or fancy houses when you cannot afford them. They teach how to use debt to make life better, and how not to use debt. I know many people who are in debt and feel bad like they are doing wrong. Guess what? That debt is a tool just like money is a tool. Now, how are you educating your kids about money? Are you teaching your grandkids about the ways to use money?

2.       Rich people invest in education, not entertainment. That is right you will see those who are rich investing in learning. You will not see most people who are rich going to a show, attending a movie, or spending foolishly if they do not have the money to do so. You will see many books in their home, they are always learning more about money, always growing. They know one thing that is true about life we all need to go back to school and learn, no matter where we are.

Now the thing that needs to be addressed here is what kind of education we are talking about when it comes to the rich learning. If you want to start learning more about how to invest, how to start businesses that work I recommend Steve Siebold’s book. I also recommend you get a few others to see if you need to go back to school when it comes to money. Here are a few:

These are just a few. This is a back-to-school education that will change your mind about money. I have said it many times: we do not need more people to share their wealth; we need more people to create wealth for themselves. If you have no money coming in then go to where the money is coming in and get in the path of it.
