Did you ever get stuck singing with the radio then stop and wonder what the song was about, or try to figure out what the words to the song were?
As I was riding home tonight on my bike, I was listening to a song and thinking about the power of the music we listen to. The song was It’s My Life from Bon Jovi and I was thinking about how that song brings an exciting feeling to me; when it’s played, a feeling of motivation comes across my mind.
Last month when I had my mentor and coach, Craig Duswalt, on the radio show, we talked about the music we both use to pump up the crowd. That song is one that Craig uses for his radio show and when he comes to the stage at his speaking events.
This week we are talking about the sexy, healthy body and I was thinking about different songs. They can motivate you or they can start to bring you down. The idea of healthy and sexy also includes your mind.
If you are low on energy, yes it could be the food you are eating, but also think about what you are putting into your brain. In times of stress the things your mind goes over need to be just as healthy as the foods you eat. Just like the song I was listening to on the ride home, the things I think about can give me a feeling of energy.
So your call to action for the day is to ask yourself: “What am I doing to motivate myself to build a stronger, more energetic person? I tell people all the time to build a motivational playlist, something you can put on to start your day, or to bring more energy in the room when needed.
