15 Entrepreneur lessons learned, some the hard way

  1. Life is not always fair, so plan accordingly.
  2. Before you judge an entrepreneur’s by outward appearances, know that someday you may have to ask him or her for a job.
  3. If you think it’s tough answering to one boss, wait till you become an entrepreneur and have to answer to the 40 clients who are now your boss.
  4. Don’t blame your parents; they raised you with no experience, and sometimes no money.
  5. Everybody wins and nobody loses is a great quote, but it’s not always that way in real life.
  6. I know things look easy on TV but no one writes the script for your life. That job is up to you.
  7. Making $100k is a great goal, but it’s not going to happen right out of the gate.
  8. Service and retail jobs are not below you; as a matter of fact it’s a great place to learn some people skills.
  9. MLM is not a bad idea or a scam; it’s also a great place to learn people skills.
  10. If you have to tell people you are successful, you’re not that successful.
  11. Where you come from is not your fault, but what you do with your life is.
  12. You will work for a dream – either your own dream or someone else’s dream.
  13. You will have to do things you do not like. Get over it.
  14. You will have to market, sell and promote. If you don’t learn how to do it for yourself, you will do it for someone else.
  15. You will only get out of this what you are willing to put into it.
