Shaun White Wins Again

Watching Shaun White fall on his second run last night was so disheartening. If you think back 4 years ago when he fell on his half pipe snowboard runs, finishing 2014 Olympics with 4th place.

But it was not as disheartening as friends whom I have great respect for, starting fights on social media. This year became time to clean out those energy drains. As part of the book I’m writing about how to start with yourself, and fix you. The first section is all about removing those energy drains.

Well if you have friends on social media who will not let anything go, they turn everything they can into a political fight. Sure enough some of them noticed one little thing that happened at the Olympic games with Shaun White winning the Gold on his final run.

I noticed as they posted it on their own walls, and let it go. But when they decided to turn my post of congrats to Shaun on Facebook about the issue that was bothering them well I removed it, and them from friends.

Lets take a look at this, picture you inviting someone over to your house party, and when they arrive they find something wrong with one of your guest, any problem. They choose to start a fight because they feel the world should view everything the same way they do.

How long would that person be welcome in your home? If every time you invited them they did the same thing, would you stop inviting them???

Now if you go to their house and they choose to take the conversation to a point where they share their views, and fight about it with all their guests, is it your problem?

The difference is whose house you are at. Well this online thing, from blogging to social media needs to be thought of the same way. Here in Texas if you don’t want someone to visit your home and they demand their way in you have the right to protect your property.

When helping people reach out to grow their online following by commenting on others blogs, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other social sites. The biggest thing not to do is enter someone’s page and leave a comment that points them out to be wrong, or starts a fight. You want to compliment them, and ask questions that would make people want to come to your site to connect.

Had these friends kept the conversation on their own social media wall, it would be fine with me. When they come to a conversation on my posts, and start arguing with people and bringing up topics of debating, fighting on my wall it is the same as coming to my home and starting fights with my guests. Its not cool.

Seeing the social media world that explodes a conversation over a little statement. Starting a political discussion over the way an Olympic athlete smiles, or acts is an energy drain.

Any friend who chooses to use social media as their place to get upset over the fact that Trump wore the wrong color tie to work today is an energy drain.

Want more peace in your life remove the energy drains.

Feel you have to push your political view of something, do it on your own blog, and social pages. Stop fighting and acting like a 3 year old.

dead mans post

Dead Man Posting

how to create a dead mans post Have you ever thought, what happens to my blog when I die?

The discussion broke out about what to do with your blog in case of death. And thought maybe we should think about it…

So here are few things to consider about how to create a Dead Mans Post.

First make sure you hosting is paid for in advance. So like it will be up for a month or so even if something happens.

Then write a post that would maybe talk about somethings that are recent, so you will have to keep it updated.

Set this to post a week or so in the future, but always keep on top of it to continue moving it. Once you are gone no one will know to do this, and it will get posted.

Make sure you have something set up like IFTT so it moves posting it on several sites for a few days..

Make sure to word your post like you are speaking in the after life.

Now some things to consider.

  1. I would make mine funny because it is who I am.
  2. If you are an encourager maybe make this a post of love and encouragement to those that are left behind. That special message could really lift up a friend.
  3. Know your audience.
  4. Yes this is a destruct sequence like on Lost where you must enter a code to keep it from going out.

This could be fun, and yet it could be inspiring.

Just a thought, hope it helps someone take a bite out of death.

30 Minutes to Change Your Life

30 minutes to change How do you change your world in 30 minutes, or less?

Imagine you are presented with a problem at work, your supervisor gives you 30 minutes to have a solution on his desk.

What would you do?

Where do you go to think?

When working a job all to often you get those short notice, must have deadlines. If you need the job you need to find the answer, solution, or have the project done.

When it comes to home life, your spouse gives you the same time frame. Do you work as hard? If it were your child that needed you to come up with the solution would you?

Now imagine the problem is your child has just fallen and need to be taken the emergency room, their life depends on it you have30 minutes.

We all have them, and sometimes it’s the level of urgency that is put on us by others that makes us think faster.

If you are a home office entrepreneur it may get hard sometimes to focus, to clear the mind to find that solution in less than 30 minutes.

When I wrote this blog post below, it was about a 30-minute break from thinking. Doing some tasks that would free the mind for a few minutes to be able to focus on what to do next.

Below you will find the original blog post that got this Lifestyle entrepreneur going.

With only 30 minutes to come up with a solution, I wanted to find something interesting to write for my first blog. I looked for a week and still no ideas. It is now one month after starting my new venture full-time and leaving a daily grind job. Working from home is great, and working for you even better. Most people want to do this but cannot find a way, or a path to take to make this happen so they keep working a job for someone or at someplace they really don’t like. So what can you do if you don’t know where to go?

How to get started?

While going down the list that I’ve been putting off for almost a month. I noticed I still have not gotten my storage garage cleaned and organized. I had a little help over the weekend when deciding to add another motorcycle, and had to now fit 3 of them in. So with the best intention, setting a 30-minute timer to work on the project for 30 minutes.

Well the total job took only 45-minutes total to complete once getting started. This made me think back to some wisdom an old boss gave many years ago. Just spend a little time on the project each day. You will find once you get started it will be done in no time.

So why not get started, block out small amounts of time for the projects, and do the work and when the timer goes off, move on to your next job. In this case it was only 30 minutes.

Maybe you need to block out 30 minutes to write that book? Or 30 minutes to write a blog post. What ever it is get started and change your world in just a few minutes time.

Bitcoin, Gurus, and Podcasts

What is with all the new tech coming out?

While everyones talking tech this week my tech stocks are taking a dive.. Whats up with that?

Recently a conversation with my good friend David we talked about how much I rant lately. Are you learning from these rants?  Do you have a place to rant? Imagine a world where everyone could rant. Picture yourself in a world of sharing your struggles and joys, oh thats called a blog…

So last week I did a quick  video about the world of Bitcoin, (watch the video here) I was not putting down bitcoin. The message and rant was about how so many people jump on the wagon when its the hot topic. Currently  I have many friends who have been investing in crypto currencies this year. Many are very profitable from it. But like any bubble, bust, or latest greatest hot topics. So many people have jumped on the wagon of “experts”.

So if you want to be successful, or learn about something you do the research. You find out who the people are who know what they are talking about and who to avoid. The last few years with experiences on Blab allowed me to meet many people who have great intentions, but NO depth anything they do. They are like dust in the wind.

So who should we check out in this space?

So with the crypto currency topics going about, here is some places you can learn from that might help. These 3 people are people whom I trust for advice:

First as mentioned on the video Joel Comm. (Bad Crypto Podcast) He runs a podcast talking about it, and as Joel always has he is someone who is on the cutting edge with things. Always a person to listen to when you look into anything new online, Joel will walk past some of those landmines and help you down a success path.

Second would be Ani Alexander who runs the podcast Crypto talks, Ani works in the field as part of her job, she is not just a guru who is talking about it to get you to invest in it. In the few years Ive known Ani, she does tons of research about anything she does. She has been great over the years helping authors build an awesome brand for themselves. Now Ani is part of BABB ( Bank Account Based Blockchain) working as the head of marketing. Using her marketing expertise to help investors on this exciting place.

Third is what I want to call the Godfather of Podcasting. A personal friends who started studying the field and using his podcasting skills to ask the questions you would ask, from the people who know. Gary Leland is a friend who lives in Dallas, and last night we got to chatting about what he is learning and how, he is working with another highly respected person in the Dallas area in the WordPress field Tony Cecala. They have a podcast known as Crypto Cousins. ( their podcast artwork is featured in todays photo).

My experience

This morning I decided to take a dip in the water, now Im not recommending you put all your savings or invest large amounts of money you could not afford to lose. Do you research on any investment you make. But I decided to set up a Coinbase account as they are recommending it, and invested $100 in bitcoin this morning. Gary gave me an referral link where he made $10 for referring me. If you wish to try this investment out, when you invest $100 both you and I get $10. If you wish to try click this link below and set up your account.

Coinbase Account

Please check this out and do your research. We are currently checking out some other investment apps at our home, and will keep you updated on our success. With tech changing all the time, it pays to investigate. Find the right people to learn from. Dont just take someones word. I hope you check out the three podcasts above if you wish to learn more..

Stay tuned as we learn more. Make sure you subscribe to our updates.
